AI Skills for Business Series

Four-part, hands-on AI workshop series designed for small business owners, students, nonprofit leaders, local professionals, and team members who want to move beyond basic chatbot use and build practical AI workflows they can use in real work.

Each session is in person, approachable, and focused on practical business value. Participants will leave each workshop with a working AI-assisted workflow and clear next steps they can continue using afterward.

The program runs on lunch breaks at 11am – 1pm from on August 19th, August 25th, Sept. 2nd, and Sept. 16th.

$75 per session
or $250 for all 4 sessions

  • Marie Doce, who runs local Grounded AI firm and is an SBDC Advisor.

  • All of the sessions will be held in Arcata at the Startup Humboldt Innovation Hub (876 7th Street). In-person attendance is required.

  • Session 1: Claude Cowork for Small Business Operations
    • Date: Wednesday, August 19, 2026
    • Cost: $75
    • Explore how Claude can support small business operations when connected strategically to approved business tools and workflows. The session will include practical examples such as summarizing business information, organizing customer or project context, preparing reports, drafting follow-ups, and identifying repeatable admin workflows.
  • Session 2: Claude Code: Build Your Own AI-Powered Personal Assistant
    • Date: August 25, 2026
    • Cost: $75
    • Learn how to use Claude Code to create a personalized AI assistant that can help with everyday work such as drafting, organizing information, summarizing materials, creating reusable routines, and supporting common business tasks.
  • Session 3: AI-Assisted Social Media Marketing: Build a Brand Voice System
    • Date: September 2, 2026
    • Cost: $75
    • Learn how to use AI tools to streamline social media content creation without sacrificing your unique brand voice. Participants will build a simple social media style guide and reusable AI instructions to help generate content ideas, draft posts, repurpose existing materials, and keep messaging aligned with their business.
  • Session 4: Build Your Personal Website With Lovable
    • Date: September 16, 2026
    • Cost: $75
    • Learn how to use Lovable and AI-assisted software development to create the first version of a personal website. This session is ideal for students, small business owners, and professionals who want a simple online home for their brand, services, portfolio, or work.
