Multi-Business Employee Layoff Help Event (Humboldt Rapid Response)

Multi-Business Employee Layoff Help Event (Humboldt Rapid Response)

Friday, April 3, 2020 10:00am to 11:30am

This is our region's first Virtual, Multi-Business Employee Layoff Help Event. Normally these "layoff help" events are done on site in a single company with a group of employees facing layoffs. The COVID-19 pandemic demands we adapt this approach.

Humboldt Employers: get your employees on the line together for a briefing about what help employees can count if they are facing layoffs (or have been laid off). North Coast SBDC, The Smart Center / Job Market, Dept. of Health and Human Services, a financial advisor from Coast Central Banks are going to get on the line with your laid-off employees to guide them to financial help, job search help, re-training, and more.

If your employees *have already been laid off* they can still participate! Please send them the link.

Please have your employees register directly. They will then get instructions for how to participate by video conference or phone.

Registration closes Friday, 4/3/2020 at 9 am. All participants will receive Zoom meeting link shortly after 9 am Friday 4/3

How to use Zoom to access services virtually: Zoom is the videoconferencing service SBDC uses to deliver our workshops live. It's flexible--can be used as a phone service or a videoconference service. Please make sure that you have downloaded and installed the Zoom program on your computer in advance. It’s fairly fast and easy, but does take a few minutes. And if this is your first time here is a short video tutorial on YouTube from Geeks on Tour: How do I join a Zoom meeting?
