Start Smart Business Bootcamp – Garberville, CA

The North Coast Small Business Development Center in collaboration with the Southern Humboldt Chamber of Commerce is rolling out a new set of in-person, long-format workshops designed for a post-pandemic work environment.

When you run your own business or are working another job while you plan your new business, we know it’s hard to commit to many weeks of shorter webinars in hopes you will be able to acquire a new skill. With the all-day “Bootcamp” program, the North Coast Small Business Development Center will bring in-person workshops to you.

Start Smart Business Bootcamp is an in-person, long format workshop from 10-4 pm that will give you all the tools and resources to start your business and put you on the path to self-employment.

The workshop will be held at the Sprowel Creek Campus (Redwood Playhouse) in Garberville, Room 106

In this workshop you will:

  • Leave with a draft of your business plan
  • Receive a list of all the licensing steps required in your municipality or county
  • Learn about the business structures that best suits your needs
  • Run a “living wage estimator” to know what the business will need in revenue in order to make you self-sufficient
  • Create a draft of startup costs
  • Complete a customer profile and draft of a marketing plan
  • Learn the financial documents needed to manage your business and eventual apply for startup capital or equity investment
